We are excited to help you introduce your child to the Catholic Church and begin their journey with the Body of Christ. Our goal is to help families share the wonderful experience of this sacrament, as well as understand the commitment they are undertaking for their child. Baptism Preparation is required for the first child being baptized at any Tri-County Catholics parish.
When do baptisms at our parish occur?
Baptisms are not regularly scheduled during the Lenten season (Ash Wednesday - Easter Sunday)
Baptisms are only scheduled once parents complete all necessary paperwork and preparation courses
First Sunday of the month Baptisms take place at St. John Parish
Second Sunday of the month Baptisms take place at St. Michael Parish
Third Sunday of the month Baptisms take place at St. Gabriel Parish
With advanced scheduling and approval, Baptisms may take place at other times
All parents are required to attend a Baptism Preparation Program offered the third Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the St. John the Evangelist Chapel. It must be taken before the baptism and it need only be taken once. The preparation programs give parents the opportunity to consider the meaning of their own faith, the Church's understanding of Baptism, and the elements of the Rite of Baptism. In addition to the class, a baptism form must be completed before scheduling a baptism. Baptism forms are available at the Baptism Formation class.
