The Church's catechetical mission aims to help the faithful of all ages to grow in both human and Christian maturity, enriching the whole of life with the leaven of the Gospel. Appropriate goals and content embrace the understanding of communicating the faith, skills needed for personal growth, the experience of family life, relationships, public service, and concern for the common good. Our faith formation ministries engage the particular needs and interests of the people in each local community. To be faithful and effective it offers, over time, a comprehensive and systematic presentation and exploration of the core elements of Catholic faith and practice—a complete initiation into a Catholic way of life. Our programs are accessible to adults, teens, and children; relating to each of their unique life experiences, helping them to form a Christian conscience and to live their lives in the world as faithful disciples of Jesus.
Adult Confirmation
Are you an adult who missed receiving the sacrament of Confirmation? Adult Confirmation is an opportunity for any adult Catholic who was baptized, received their First Communion/Eucharist, is practicing their faith, but for whatever reason did not have the opportunity to complete their full initiation into the life of faith and the Church. Preparation for Confirmation for adults will begin during the Easter Season. Candidates will be confirmed at the Pentecost Vigil. Please contact Becky Albrinck for more information.
Everyone has questions! In a world of isolation, anonymity, and keyboard-warriors, Tri-County Catholics offers programming and guidance for curious minds to explore Catholicism in an open and honest space. Everyone is welcome and no questions are off limits. Tri-County Catholics follows a course of study known as, Alpha. Alpha creates a space where people can attend and bring their friends for a conversation about faith life and God.
Growing in your faith doesn't end after graduation, marriage, children, a career or even retirement. Interested in delving deeper into your relationship with Christ? Check out the various Adult Faith Formation programs and events hosted across our Family of Parishes on our Events tab.
The purpose of the Adult Evangelization Team: To support our adult evangelization staff through prayer, evaluation, brainstorming, and hands on volunteering. We encourage our ministry to be a well-rounded ministry (based on the document Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us by the USCCB), and a ministry that engages all adult parishioners and those who live within our geographical boundaries. (Canon 528)
This team should represent the evangelization efforts of our parish as we seek to promote and follow a discipleship pathway. This includes events and activities covering all stages of the pathway: Pre-Evangelization, Evangelization, and Discipleship.
This small group of adult parishioners provides a consistent support for a ministry that is often called to many different directions with Beacons of Light, the culture of the parishes and communities, and the events and circumstances of the outside world. At the heart of this ministry is encounter with Christ, and building relationship with Christ and one another. Ideally, the group includes the Director of Evangelization, Director of Adult Formation, a representative from Young Adult Ministry, clergy, as well as two representatives from each of our parishes in our family. Duties:
Attend a monthly meeting with the other staff and other team members that evaluates immediate past events, and assists with planning upcoming events and educational opportunities. Members are encouraged to challenge staff to ensure we are staying on mission.
Pray daily for the conversion of souls within our family of parishes.
Share one positive story a month about adult formation with parishioners.
Willing to be an ambassador to 5-7 people within the parish to call upon to promote the events and activities of the team.
Encourage the staff to continue to work across the family of parishes to create a culture of Christian unity.
