Our Catholic family begins preparing for Easter forty days before this special day. Lent allows us to spend time in repentance, fasting, and prayer. It is a time to look at Christ and seek to be more like Him. For Catholics and non-Catholics alike, there is much value in celebrating Lent. Its liturgical color is purple.

FASTING & ABSTINENCE
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting. For most Catholics, this means you are permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal.
All Fridays during Lent are days of abstinence. For most Catholics, this means abstaining from eating meat.
